We collect the minimum data needed to run ChefBoard. This includes your name, email address, and profile photo provided through Clerk (our authentication provider). We also collect data you voluntarily enter: recipes, ingredients, inventory levels, supplier details, and sales records. This data is stored in our database and is never sold to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the ChefBoard service. Specifically: to authenticate your account, store your kitchen data (recipes, inventory, orders), generate reports and analytics, send notifications about low stock or order status, and provide customer support. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Neon (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest. Authentication is handled by Clerk, which is SOC 2 Type II compliant. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS for all connections, and access controls to limit who can view your organization's data. Your kitchen data is isolated per organization — other ChefBoard users cannot see your data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Clerk — user authentication and organization management
• Neon — managed PostgreSQL database hosting
• Vercel — application hosting and analytics

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (recipes, inventory, orders, etc.) will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You can request data export or deletion at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, export, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can manage your profile settings within the app. For data deletion or export requests, contact us at chefboardsupport@gmail.com.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk) and to maintain your session. We do not use tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics may collect anonymous usage data to help us improve performance — this can be opted out of via browser settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. The latest version will always be available at this page.
